Carrollton Campus Testing for First-Time College Students
This testing page is NOT FOR DUAL CREDIT STUDENTS. Dual credit students must sign up via the dual credit link provided by your counselor http://jctcdc.eventbrite.com. Where to come to take the Placement test: JCTC Carrollton Campus, Room 134, 1607 Hwy 227, Carrollton, KY 41008Exit 44 off I-71This campus location is 50 MILES northeast of Louisville. What to bring the day of testing: A photo ID is required to take the test (government-issued ID, school ID or work ID). You may bring a calculator for the math portion of testing. How to prepare for testing: You can take some practice tests at the links below: Reading & Writing (these tests are timed): https://www.test-guide.com/TABE/?gclid=CMyDm5-A8tACFcEbgQodaqoBwg http://www.4tests.com Select “Free Practice Tests for ACT” for Reading & Writing only. Avoid the sections that want to charge you for materials. Math (this test is not timed): http://www.kyote.org/mc/placementPractice.aspx Click on the “Practice Exams,” any of the Math College Readiness or the Math College Algebra Practice Tests will give you a good idea of what will be on the test, and help you study. For the math Placement test you can use a calculator. Students may use any four-function, scientific, or graphing calculator with the exception of: calculators with built-in or downloaded computer algebra system functionality including, TI-89 or TI-92 and the TI-Nspire CAS (the TI-Nspire non-CAS is permitted). We do have basic four-function calculators that you can use if you need one. A confirmation ticket will be immediately sent to the email address you provided. Please do not worry about printing the tickets. Your picture ID will suffice. A student should plan on being on campus for at least three hours.
